I recommend trying the Full Version: Cantabile Performer.Ĭantabile has a free version, by the way. And it's not that expensive as Logic Pro, Ableton or Cubase.ĭownload the Trial Version, and let me know what you think. It's not specialized on recording, but it is great for live performance it's in fact developed specially for serious keyboardists. Very comprehensive, and you can do whatever you want, control the split, transpose, velocity curve, anything imaginable. You can setup songs, set lists, song states, etc. With Cantabile, you can switch between songs really quick, without the waiting times of loading plugins, and still use your favorite plugins furthermore you can assign controls from your keyboard so you don't even need to touch the computer when playing live. There is also the case of some more social users who might be chatting away while watching a video together or browsing the Web. Microsoft is clearly focusing its marketing on business users who’d have different documents or apps running at the same time to compare or even share data. The subset of mobile users that regularly do this, however, might be very small. To be more specific, the dual-screen device is made for highly productive people who find themselves always switching between two or three apps. There might be some who wish they could do things at the same time or see two apps simultaneously, and it’s exactly for that use case that the Surface Duo was designed. This is admittedly very limiting, especially if you’re used to the multi-window world of desktops and laptops. The School of Jobs and the smartphones that followed have conditioned our minds to use one app at a time, deftly switching back and forth between apps and screens as needed. While most people will probably want a bigger screen, how many will actually need two somewhat small screens instead? Why, those who use two apps at the same time, of course! And therein lies the biggest question of the Surface Duo’s design purpose. Those won’t take full advantage of the device’s capabilities, though, and you’ll have to make use of both screens at the same time. The Surface Duo 2 can do almost anything a smartphone or tablet can do, especially if you use only a single screen. Unfortunately, Microsoft’s target audience makes it clear that it’s not for everyone in the first place. Unfortunately, people will approach it from either direction because they’re more familiar with smartphones and tablets and might not be able to adequately wrap their heads around a new creature such as this, especially when they might not even understand what it is for. Admittedly, it’s unfair to judge the Surface Duo by these standards because it’s neither a phone nor a tablet but a completely different device. It’s too wide to use as a phone when folded, and it’s unusable as a “full” tablet when spread out. The device’s ambiguity meant that it was actually difficult, if not awkward, to use it like you would a familiar mobile device. It didn’t, however, solve the fundamental problem of exhibiting an identity that people can understand and relate to, which would have gone a long way in making the device more appealing beyond mere curiosity. The Surface Duo had that capability built-in, saving users from having to juggle accessories. The experience, of course, was very different, more similar to how you’d connect a second monitor to a computer. LG tried to take a stab at a dual-screen phone with a case that you can attach and remove as needed. The Surface Duo’s unconventional design does warrant a different classification, though it’s not exactly original in the basic concept. Even Microsoft itself avoids calling the Surface Duo by either name, preferring to just refer to it as a “dual-screen mobile device.” You can easily call it a tablet, either, even though content can span both screens to form one single display that has a very noticeable cut in the middle. You can’t even fold the Surface Duo 2 back completely now that it has a camera bump. You can’t really call it a smartphone, even though it does make calls since it’s rather awkward to actually use it as a phone unless you’re always wearing earbuds. To some extent, the Microsoft Surface Duo is in a class of its own. Although it did have its fair share of fans, the Surface Duo 2 just didn’t seem to click with the masses, even less than the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, and these are five reasons why. At first, it seemed that it would actually be a new mobile device category to stand beside typical foldables, but the rumor now is that Microsoft seems to have thrown in the towel. The Microsoft Surface Duo and its successor tried to offer a less risky yet still expensive interpretation of the foldable design, offering two distinct screens rather than folding a single one. Even if they were more affordable, most people would probably still not be able to justify such a purchase, especially considering some concerns regarding durability. Foldable phones have been on the market for almost five years now, but they’re still considered to be expensive eccentricities and luxuries that only a few can really afford. They may be technological marvels, but foldable and rollable screens remain just that in consumers’ eyes. This is a limited-time offer for Cyber Week so we recommend adding to cart before the deal ends. While the Sonos Move is regularly priced at almost $400, you can get the Bose SoundLink Revolve II for 23% off that price - on sale for just $229. It also has lower Bluetooth latency with iOS and Android devices, though some apps. That said, the II has better voice assistant performance than the Revolve. They're about the same size, have similar controls, and have a very similar sound profile suitable for a variety of music genres. “SimpleSync” mode, meantime, lets you pair the speaker with other Bose speakers to create a true surround sound experience. The Bose SoundLink Revolve and the Bose SoundLink Revolve II are very similar cylindrically-shaped speakers. Multi-connect mode lets you pair two devices at one time and easily switch between them to control your playlists. Pairing is super easy using via Bluetooth, and in our experience, our music paired to the speaker in seconds. While you shouldn’t submerge it in the pool, it can hold up to splashes of water or a little rain without damage. While the Sonos Move gets up to 11 hours on a single charge, the Bose SoundLink II gets a whopping 17 hours from its rechargeable lithium-ion battery.ĭesigned to be used indoors or outdoors, the Bose SoundLink Revolve is rated IP55 to be dust-proof and weatherproof. Namely, the Move 2 can playback stereo content without downmixing it to mono. The Bose SoundLink Speaker is a portable Bluetooth speaker that delivers big, full, 360-degree sound, thanks to an omnidirectional deflector that moves sound around you rather than directly at you. The Sonos Move 2 is the next generation of the Sonos Move, with some noticeable improvements. The Outdoor Vertical Shed is technically a shed, though it's more like a tall cupboard, as it's not meant for you to step inside. Rubbermaid makes some of the best backyard sheds and outdoor storage solutions on the market. The Spruce Home Improvement Review Board. Decimal numbers consist of two parts, a whole number, and a fractional part. This float is used to create the storage to store the decimal values. Since int or integer is used to store the whole numbers, we need to have a new keyword for decimal and fractional values also. So, we can store one character in one char variable.Ĭhar initial = 's' float (Floating-Point) The size of the char data type is 1 byte. The char keyword is used to create a variable where we can store the characters. The size of the int data type can be 4 bytes on 32-bit & 64-bit machines and 2 bytes on 16-bit machines. It doesn’t include decimal and fractional numbers. Integer or int is a whole number that includes positive and negative numbers. It is the most basic data type that is used to represent simple values like integer, character, float, double, and void. What are Basic/Primitive Data Types in C? What are the types of data types?ĭata types are classified into three different types:. We will see that in depth in this tutorial. We need to use the appropriate data types while creating the variable. Why do we use Data Types in C?ĭata types are used to specify the types of data in which variables are held. We will also see how the values are stored in the memory in the later of this tutorial. That means in the memory (variable age), we can store only the integers. In the above example, age (variable) is the memory name. Int a = 15 :- it stores integer-type data.Ĭhar b = ‘g’ :- it stores character-type data.įloat c = 9.7000000 :- it stores float-type data.ĭouble d= 6.800300000000 :- it stores double-type data. The data type is the type of data that needs to be stored in that memory. In simple terms, the variable is the name of the memory area. A data type is an attribute that tells the machine or computer or micro-controllers how to read and store the value. It is mainly used to define a variable or function in the C program. The data type is a type of data that tells the compiler what type of data is going to be stored in the memory. This project will require two power supplies: one for your Raspberry Pi, plus a USB-C power supply for the display itself. The two screws are on the top in the back so the whole frame appears to be magically “glued” into place, no mounting hardware is visible. The last step is to screw the top of the frame into place making sure that the groove properly aligns with the mirror. The frame is mounted – the top is screwed into place I found two ways around that problem though, managing to install it on the Pi Zero anyways. This comes with Wifi on board and has a mini HDMI output… perfect! Only problem is that it is not officially supported by the MagicMirror² software I used. Instead of buying a new Raspberry Pi 4 for hundreds of Euros I decided to reuse a small Pi Zero W I had left over from an old project. Well unless there is a global supply crisis driving prices to stupid high levels. This particular smart mirror uses Raspberry Pi and MagicMirror. To create the smart mirror you need the following stuff. They are powerful enough, do not need much energy and are cheap. After some research and inspiration, I finally landed on the right project: a smart mirror. For these projects I love using Raspberry Pis. Now after building the frame and preparing the mirror as well as the TV the last missing component is some source for the images that the TV should show in the mirror. It worked very well for its price altough the mirror effect is not perfect (to be fair its not made for that). You can find the film I used in the list at the end of this article. The bubbles you can see in this picture went away after some time when the water underneath evaporated. The Magic Mirror project offers just that a chance to turn your Raspberry Pi into a stunningly interactive and intelligent mirror. It was not quite wide enough but that is fine and the edges will be hidden inside the groove in the frame anyways. Afterwards I trimmed the film to fit the glass.
